AJ Berkovitz (Yeshiva University): AJ, a senior at Yeshiva College, is a Jewish Studies Major with a concentration in Bible who thoroughly believes that the academic study of Jewish religion is avodat Hashem and Talmud Torah. He is currently the TA for Rabbi Dr. Jeremy Wieder's Advanced Talmud class, and is doing research with Dr. Shawn-Zelig Aster on Biblical Narratology. He is also a staff writer for Kol Hamevaser, YU's Jewish Thought magazine. When not enamored by classical Judaism, he serves on the board of YU's Social Justice Society and co-coordinator of YU's bi-annual Tanakh Yom Iyun. Before attending YU, AJ spent a year in Yeshivat Har Etzion (Gush Etzion, Israel) studying Talmud, Tanakh, and Jewish philosophy. He is 20 years old and lives in Far Rockaway, NY.
