Track 1: Seminar Leader Leora Batnitzky Carrie L. Filipetti (University of Virginia) is a rising fourth-year at the University of Virginia majoring in Religious Studies with a concentration on Judaism. A Jefferson and Echol's Scholar, Carrie is also recent inductee of the Raven Honor Society. Carrie's major interests today include Zionism, anti-Semitism, and the First Temple Period, though she has been known to change her mind on a daily, if not hourly, basis. While at University, Carrie spends most of her time as an advocate for Israel, having served as Vice President of Advocacy for Hoos for Israel for the past three years and currently looking forward to her final year as President of the organization. Carrie is also an active member of UVa's Hillel and Astronomy Society and is co-chair for the Student Council's Diversity Initiatives Committee. She is currently interning in Minneapolis and will serve as an intern at the Rutherford Institute for Civil Liberties and Human Rights next year.
