Ilan WurmanClaremont McKenna College
Track 2: Seminar Leader Allan Arkush Ilan Wurman (Claremont McKenna College) is a recent graduate of Claremont McKenna College, where he majored in Government and Physics, and will begin graduate studies at Stanford Law School this fall. Ilan is particularly interested in political philosophy and the question of how human beings ought to live. He believes that there is a tension between political philosophy and religion, i.e., between reason and revelation, but also that religion can be a sound basis for politics. He hopes to explore these tensions and possibilities at this year’s program. Ilan also likes to write, and was the editor of the conservative publication at his undergraduate college. An essay of his, based on his senior thesis on Jeane Kirkpatrick and Reagan’s foreign policy, was published late last year in Commentary magazine.
