Nerya CohenHebrew University Summer 2009 - Track 3 (Advanced) Nerya Cohen, 26, lives in Tel Aviv with his wife and child. Nerya has learned in 'Birkat Moshe' Hesder Yeshiva in Ma'ale Adumim, combining his Yeshiva studies with a military service as an officer in the IDF Intelligence Corps. Nerya is a graduate of the Hebrew University's 'Revivim' honors program. His B.A. (honors) in Jewish Studies focused primarily on Jewish Philosophy, Talmudic studies and Jewish history; and he minored in Bible Studies. Currently, Nerya is an M.A. student at the Hebrew University's Institute of Contemporary Jewry. His future thesis will deal with Jewish identity and identification in American Jewry. Nerya was included in the Hebrew University Faculty of Humanities Dean's List (2006, 2007) and was awarded an excellence Grant from the Mandel Institute of Jewish Studies' Bible department (2006). In addition to his Judaic studies, Nerya is also an LL.B. student at the Bar Ilan University Law School Honors Program. As a Revivim alumnus, Nerya teaches Oral Torah, Jewish philosophy and Jewish history at the Yitzchak Rabin Tichon Hadash high school in Tel Aviv, . Nerya is also the assistant editor of 'Law Studies', Bar Ilan University's Law Review. |
