Rebecca MintzYeshiva University Summer 2009 - Track 1 (Novak) Rebecca Mintz is from Fair Lawn, New Jersey and graduated from Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School as valedictorian of her class. After high school, she spent a year in Israel studying at the Stella K. Abraham Beit Midrash for Women on Kibbutz Migdal Oz. She is currently on a full academic scholarship in Yeshiva University Stern College’s honors program, majoring in philosophy and minoring in Jewish studies. Rebecca is a chemistry teacher’s assistant at her university and an in-class tutor for reading and writing in an underprivileged middle school in Harlem. In addition, she spends time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and at local soup kitchens. Rebecca has traveled to Costa Rica and Russia where she worked with the Jewish communities there in an effort to promote Jewish education. She also is an avid swimmer and has been captain of her school’s swim team. |
